Roughly 1.5 billion cows are being raised on the planet. Cows require many acres of pasture and a lot of water. However, to meet the demand for livestock products, cows now have to feed on grains in a mass production environment. Enormous amount of grains must be produced to feed the cows and accordingly, farmlands keep on growing. That's why the forests are burning. By turning the forests into farmlands, we increase carbon emission and decrease carbon sinks. How long can we maintain our current carnivorous diets? Unless we change out eating habits, the planet won't be sustainable any longer. That sweet piece of bloody meat is threatening global environment and aggravating climate change.
