  • Approx. 20,000 people from 20 countries are expected to participate
Purpose
  • To encourage public interest and understanding of the global environmental change that is an imminent threat to the human race and call for their behavior change
  • To establish a platform where all people can participate and enjoy together to recover the rights of nature by screening environmental films and videos, holding seminars, exhibitions, and experience events
Necessity
  • By holding a global and environmental film festival utilizing Busan’s key areas (i.e., film and environment), Busan Metro Politan City can preempt the agendas such as climate crisis and carbon neutrality and become an eco-friendly global city.
    ※ Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the criteria for evaluating global urban competitiveness have been changed from tourism resources and investment value to safety, environment, and digital technologies.
  • Since videos and films moved from traditional media (e.g., TV and cinema screen) to new media (e.g., YouTube, TikTok, and OTTs), various platforms have been created.
  • The global cities have built up an eco-friendly city image by hosting environmental film festivals.
Main Content
Environmental Film Festival
Various genres of environmental films will be selected and screened to help citizens understand the climate crisis and the necessity of carbon neutrality
(approx. 50 films from 20 countries, non-competitive)
Creator Environmental Video Festival
Various types of videos (e.g., advertisements, short-form videos, dramas, music videos, video clips, and videos of a citizens' video contest) will be screened.

Promotion of Envrionmental Content
Environmental content, including webtoons, web novels, and illustrations, will be promoted and exhibited.
Exhibition/Experience
Eco-friendly exhibition and experience programs, including the Green Life Show, upcycled art, and eco-friendly food will be operated.
ESG International Conference 2022
Awareness of ESG, climate crisis, and carbon neutrality will be spread and action plans for them will be shared.
