Background of Theme Selection
- The world focuses on the "UNEP Finance Initiative" which means the overall management activities of financial institutions aim to be carried out based on sustainability.
- When conducting corporate evaluation, not only financial factors but also non-financial factors (e.g., ESG) that affect corporate value and sustainability are reflected
Necessity
- In Korea, corporate social responsibility activities that are non-financial (e.g., eco-friendly activities) have become one of the main indicators for evaluating the corporate value
- A platform is needed for establishing leadership of financial institutions at the international level and for international networking between major stakeholders in the government and civil society and financial institutions.
Agenda
- Sharing propositions on ESG business modeling and leaderships based on UNEP Finance Initiative, followed by future directions, major tasks, vision, the best practices of integrated administration, implications, etc.
- Acknowledging the significance of sustainable business management environment and international perspective of partner countries.
- Discussing directions of business development support centered on ESG, Net-Zero Carbon Emission, and Climate Crisis
