4 billion tons of food is produced a year on earth but one third of the world’s food is thrown away even before making it to the table. While enormous amount of food waste is endlessly discarded everywhere in the world, 11% of world’s population is struggling to feed themselves. In our country alone, 1 trillion 540 billion KRW worth food is wasted without even being unwrapped. Food waste is one of the main reasons for global warming. Where does our food go when we throw it away? Who is paying for the food disposal process and how?
