윤균상과 장귀덕, 두 농부는 수십 년간 자신들의 씨앗을 손수 받고 심어왔다. 농사와 함께 몸이 변하고 변한 몸으로 몇십 년간 그 노동을 당연한 자세로 지속해왔다. 그러나 그들을 둘러싼 환경의 변화 속에서는 그 노동이 당연하게 남아있지 않고 특별해졌다. 그 특별한 노동이 지켜온 씨앗을 찾아다니는 사람들이 있다. 그 사람들이 다시 당연한 시간, 상태가 늘 변하지만 지속되는 씨앗의 시간이 지닌 소중함을 우리에게 돌려줄지도 모른다.
Two farmers, Yoon Gyusang and Jang Guideok, have been saving and planting their own seeds for decades. They have been working on the same things every year according to the natural and physical time flow. Their surroundings change and their ordinary labor for lives became special. There are people who look for the seeds preserved by their special labors. The cycle, in the end, doesn't end that easily.
설수안 Suan Seol
영국 골드스미스대학에서 다큐멘터리 이론 및 제작 전공으로 석사학위를 받았다. <불편한 식사>, <공부 차>, <불편>, <씨앗의 이름> 등의 단편 다큐멘터리 및 설치 비디오를 만들었다. <씨앗의 시간>은 첫 장편 연출작이다.
Suan Seol studied documentary at the graduate school of Goldsmiths, University of London. She’s made short documentaries both for screen and gallery. Her works include THE UNCOMFORTABLE, COMPLICATED ORDER, and KUNGFU TEA. TIME OF SEEDS is her first feature-length documentary
