Synopsis

나가노현 오시카무라는 한때 일본 히피들의 성지였으며 도시 생활에 적응하기 어려워 자연과 함께 살아가는 삶을 선택한 이들이 모여 사는 곳이다. 이곳에 들이닥친 고속철도 리니아 신칸센 공사는 이들 공동체에 혼란을 주고 동시에 마을을 지키고자 하는 활동을 촉발한다. 영화는 산신령에게 제를 올리는 영국인 사이먼 피코트(70)의 모습에서 출발한다. 그는 30년 전 이곳으로 들어와 자연 속에서 평화로운 삶을 이어오고 있다. 그가 바라는 것은 단지 올 한 해를 잘 부탁하는 것이다. 이 영화의 일본 제목은 <大鹿村から吹くパラム>이다. 감독은 바람을 가타카나 パラム(바람)으로 표기하고 있다. 곧 이 영화에 불어오는 바람은 단지 자연의 바람(風)이나 새로운 변화만이 아니라 소망과 희망의 우리말 바람이기도 한 것이다. <김희진>

Oshika-mura in Nagano Prefecture has once been a sanctuary for Japanese hippies. People who are fed up with city life have come together here to live with nature. The sudden construction of the Linear Shinkansen in this place made the community people confused but also triggered a movement to protect the village. The film starts with a scene where Simon Piggott (70), an English man, is doing a ritual for the mountain spirits. He has been peacefully living here in the nature for 30 years. His only wish is to have a good year ahead. The Japanese title of this film is <大鹿村から吹くパラム>. Director used Katakana パラム (Baram) for 'winds'. The winds in this film of course mean natural wind and a wind of change but it's also our Korean word, Baram which means hope and wish.

김명윤 Myoungyoon Kim

김명윤 감독은 1992년 인천 출신으로 일본영화대학 졸업 작품으로 이 영화를 만들었다. 일본영화대학은 최초이자 일본에서 유일한 영화전문대학으로 일본영화계에서 가장 저명한 영화평론가인 사토 다다오가 학장이다. 37년의 역사를 가진 요코하마 방송영화 전문학원과 일본영화학교의 역사를 이어받은 이 학교는 미이케 다카시, 사사베 키요시, 이상일 등의 감독을 배출했다. <오시카무라에 부는 바람>(2020)은 서울국제환경영화제, 인디포럼, DMZ 다큐멘터리영화제, 부산평화영화제, 울주세계산악영화제 등에 초청되었고 서울국제환경영화제에서는 한국환경영화부문 대상을 받았다. 일본에선 도쿄 학생영화제 대상, 도쿄 다큐멘터리 관객상 준대상, 일본영화협회 푸른 날개 대상, 코쿠리 비토 영화제 특별상을 받았다. 현재 NHK 다큐멘터리 제작회사에서 일하고 있다.

Director Myoungyoon Kim was born in Incheon, Korea in 1992. This is his graduation project at the Japan Institute of the Moving Image, Japan's first and only university specializing in cinema. The famous film critic Sato Tadao is the dean of this university. Inheriting the 37 years of history from Yokohama Broadcasting Technical School, this Japanese film school and university has produced Takashi Miike, Kiyoshi Sasabe and Sangil Lee. (2020) has been invited to Seoul International Eco Film Festival, Indieforum, DMZ International Documentary Film Festival, Busan Peace Film Festival, and Ulju Mountain Film Festival and received the Grand Prize in Korean Competition from SIEFF. In Japan, this film received the grand prize at Tokyo Students Film Festival, the Audience Jury Semi-Grand Award at Tokyo Documentary Film Festival, the Blue Wing Grand Award from the Japan Film Society, and a Special Award from Kokuri Bito Film Festival. He is currently working for an NHK documentary production company.
