Synopsis
에볼라, 에이즈, 사스, 메르스에서 코로나 19까지, <펜데믹 공장>은 인류를 공포에 빠트리고 있는 팬데믹의 기원을 찾아간다. 프랑스 배우 줄리엣 비노슈가 이 탐사 여행의 길잡이가 되어 각 대륙의 연구가들을 만나 해답을 얻어 간다. 팬데믹은 예고된 재난이라고 전문가들은 입을 모은다. 산림파괴, 단일재배, 집약 축산, 도시화 등이 초래한 생물다양성 붕괴, 기후변화는 이 지구를 감염병을 무한 재생산하는 공장으로 변모시킨다. 자연에 대한 인간의 무례가 부메랑이 되어 돌아오는 지금, 대자연의 엄중한 경고에 귀 기울여야 할 때다.

Deforestation, monoculture, industrial cattle farming, and urbanization accelerate biodiversity collapse and climate change, which then transform the Earth into a permanent manufacturer of infectious diseases. Human insolence towards nature is coming back to us like a boomerang. It is time to really listen to Mother Nature's grave warnings.

Marie-Monique Robin is an investigative journalist from France and directed a revealing documentary on human rights protection. She has been focusing on biodiversity, biotechnology, agrifood industry and other environmental related works since early 2000s.
